CRAIG ALLEN (vocals, guitar, banjo, dobro)

BIRTHDAY:  June 07

FAMILY: Wife, Jenny and daughter, Alicia

SIBLINGS: two brothers, Danny and Ricky; twin sisters, Sheri and Anita

INSTRUMENTS: Guitar, Banjo, Dobro, Mandolin, Harmonica, Bass Guitar

HOBBIES: Playing music, interior design

FUNNY: Danny never turns up my banjo loud enough; and, I can never seem to keep up with my picks and slide...???

FAVORITE ARTIST: The Rochesters

HOME CHURCH: Benson Grove Baptist Church, Benson, NC

CHURCH DUTIES HELD/HOLD: Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Church Bassist, Special Music.

TESTIMONY: I was raised in Benson Grove Baptist Church. All my young life, my brother Ricky witnessed to me, trying to show me the way to Jesus. During my adult life, many times I drove by the church wondering what people found so intriguing there. Then, in 1998, the Lord showed me mightily what was drawing them... His Spirit. He drew me to Himself, saved me out of hell, changed my priorities in life, and made me a brand new creature. His gift to me at that time was salvation and the talent for music, which I have since used to try to show others the way to new life in Jesus. Since then, I have been completely satisfied in my salvation, and God has blessed my family abundantly. Life has never been so rewarding, and I have never once regretted committing my life to Jesus.

DANNY ALLEN (sound engineer / equipment technician)

BIRTHDAY:  August 19

FAMILY: Wife, Teresa and children, Jason and Nicki.

SIBLINGS: two brothers, Craig and Ricky; twin sisters, Sheri and Anita

INSTRUMENTS: Piano

HOBBIES:  Music; tinkering with sound/recording equipment and electronics.

FAVORITE SCRIPTURE: John

FAVORITE ARTISTS:  The Wehrys

FUNNY:  If I go missing, you can bet there's a table of good food set up somewhere; and... (shhh), I like to hide Craig's picks and slide from time to time before the service starts.

HOME CHURCH: Benson Grove Baptist Church, Benson, NC

CHURCH DUTIES HELD/HOLD: Electronics Team, Sound Technician, Church Pianist, Choir Member.

TESTIMONY:  I was raised in Benson Grove Baptist Church as a young child. In 1997, as I was attending a Spirit-filled youth rally in Tennessee, the Lord reached down and saved me by His marvelous grace. Shortly thereafter, I began attending Benson Grove Baptist Church again on a regular basis, and became actively involved there, serving on the electronics team, singing in the choir, and playing the piano. I currently sing bass with One Way and accompany my wife as she serves the Lord in her ministry, in addition to engineering sound for BLACK CREEK. Since the Lord saved me, He has filled me to overflowing, He has met all my needs, ministered love and grace to me in every situation, and used me in many ways. My relationship with Him only gets sweeter as the days go by.

SCOTT JOHNSON (mandolin, fiddle, guitar, vocals, speaker)

BIRTHDAY:  June 23

FAMILY: Wife, Tracie and son, Cody

SIBLINGS: one sister, Jennifer

INSTRUMENTS: Mandolin, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Trumpet, Piano

HOBBIES:  Cooking, reading, music, gardening

FAVORITE SCRIPTURE: John 20:29

FAVORITE GENRES:  Bluegrass, southern rock, jazz, disco/funk, blues... gosh, I like it all.

FUNNY:  They tell me I rock back and forth on my heels and sway side to side when I sing... and, often, I get so carried away introducing the next song, that I rabbit-track and forget which song I was actually introducing in the first place!

HOME CHURCH:  Benson Grove Baptist Church, Benson, NC

CHURCH DUTIES HELD/HOLD: Sound Technician, Electronics Team, Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, Church Bulletins and Marquee, Assistant Play Director, VBS Teacher.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT: The original Mucho Mexico, Smithfield, NC

FAVORITE FOOD: Meat

FAVORITE STORE: the grocery store

FAVORITE VACATION SPOT: any beach

FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY: My childhood was like a fairytale. Nothing sticks out particularly, because looking back, it all seemed great.

TESTIMONY:  I was raised in a church where my parents were very dedicated and active members. I attended church camp every year. My parents set good examples and gave me a solid foundation. However, when I went to college in 1989 and got out "into the world" for the first time, I began to question my faith. I continued on that track until 1997, when I visited what is now my home church on Friend Day with my father, who was the choir director there. I began to attend Benson Grove regularly, and one night during a worship service, the Lord revealed to me, my condition, as I was sitting on the back row. He saved me, I followed Him in believer's baptism, and became a faithful member. The Lord blessed me with talents that I began to use with the church as a sound technician. It wasn't very long, He put me together with Craig, where I've tried to use my musical talents to serve Him ever since. I am satisfied in my faith today, and feel stronger than ever before in the Lord.

TRACIE JOHNSON (acoustic bass, vocals)

BIRTHDAY: May 25

FAMILY: Husband, Scott; son, Cody; mother, Esther; siblings, Joan, Timmy and J.D. Despite the fact that none of them are perfect, they all love the Lord, and I couldn't be prouder of them.

INSTRUMENTS:  Acoustic Bass, Piano

PASTIMES:  Cooking, Reading, Music, Gardening

FAVORITE SCRIPTURE:  Matthew 6:25-34

FAVORITE MUSIC:  Jazz, blues, 70s-era, classic rock, easy listening, nature sounds, classical... gosh, I like them all, too.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT:  Kobe, Kanki, Kaze', any Japanese steakhouse.

FUNNY:  The boys call me Chatty Cathy... because the sleepier I get when we travel, the more I talk, and the more I talk, the less sense it makes. (Who is this Chatty Cathy character anyway?)

HOME CHURCH: Benson Grove Baptist Church, Benson, NC

CHURCH DUTIES HELD/HOLD:  Church Bassist, Church Pianist, Sunday School Teacher, Church Bulletins and Marquee, Children's Choir Director, Play Director, VBS Teacher, Nursery Director.

FAVORITE FOOD: Seafood of any kind. I'll choose it every time if it's offered.

FAVORITE STORE:  Target - they have it all!

FAVORITE TV SHOWS: The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, MASH, Andy Griffith Show.

FAVORITE MOVIES:  Lonesome Dove. Favorite characters were Woodrow Call and Augustus McCrae. Favorite quote was "I'm the one man you don't boss, Woodrow."  And Tombstone is a favorite. My favorite character in that was Doc Holliday. Favorite quote was, "I'm your huckleberry, and that's just my game!"

FAVORITE VACATION SPOT: St. Simons Island, Georgia. We always go somewhere different each year for a week-long vacation, and this is the only place we've ever visited twice.

SOMETHING YOU WANT OTHERS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU:  I can wiggle my pinky toes without wiggling the others, like fingers (you're gonna try it). I usually canNOT whistle. I can drive anything with wheels, and I usually drive WAY TOO FAST (so Scott says, and my driving record). I have a hunting license!

FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY:  My grandmother used to stay with us alot on the weekends, and she would sleep with me. And every night, she would tell me a story. My  favorite one was, "The Pig Who Wouldn't Cross the Sty." She was captivating!

TESTIMONY:  I was raised in Benson Grove Baptist Church and saved when I was 12 years old, on a day I had wanted to stay home with my Daddy, who was unchurched. It was the most awesome experience of my life, truly. However, when I got driver's license and some freedom, I got away from the Lord, went my own way, and did my own thing. I called on the Lord only in times of need or distress, never stopping to thank Him for the blessings I received every day. But at 26, He turned my life around, when He blessed me with a beautiful baby boy, opening my eyes anew to his miracle-working power. I dedicated my son to the Lord at 5 days old, and re-dedicated my life to serve the Lord. I've tried to do my best in life, but when I stumble, I go back to that stake He placed in the road on my behalf the day He saved me, and I remember who I am, a child of the King. He's never left me, and has blessed my family with more than I'll ever deserve. I am most unworthy to be used in His name, but He has chosen to do so anyway. What an awesome calling.
